Financial Assistance for Families

Ensuring education continues uninterrupted for children from large, low-income families.

Since 2017

Supporting the Vulnerable

In 2017, the Colombo YMBA inaugurated a vital project aimed at assisting children from deserving Buddhist families facing severe economic hardships. We identified that large families, often with a single breadwinner, struggle significantly to provide basic educational needs for all their children.

The primary goal of this initiative is to prevent student dropouts due to poverty. By providing a steady monthly grant, we ensure that these children can purchase stationery, uniforms, and attend tuition classes without becoming a burden to their parents.

Selection Criteria

  • Low-income Buddhist families.
  • Families with 3 or more children.
  • Children currently enrolled in school education.
