'Athata Athak' Project Donates Books to Students of Matale Ukuwela Sasanarakshaka Mandala

Under the "Athata Athak" project, initiated by the Colombo Young Men's Buddhist Association to support those affected by the Ditwa cyclone, school books for the students of the Matale Ukuwela Sasanarakshaka Board were ceremonially handed over to the Chief Secretary of the All Island Sasanarakshaka mandala, Ven. Mugunuwela Anuruddha Nayaka Thero, and the Chief Secretary of the Matale Ukuwela Sasanarakshaka Board, Ven. Kalundawe Chandrasiri Nayaka Thero. කොළඹ තරුණ බෞද්ධ සංගමය මඟින් දිට්වා සුළි කුණාටුවෙන් විපතට පත් අපේම ආදරණීය මිනිසුන් වෙනුවෙන් ආරම්භ කරන ලද "අතට අතක්" ව්‍යාපෘතිය යටතේ මාතලේ උකුවෙල ශාසනාරක්ෂක මණ්ඩලයට අයත් පාසල් දූ දරුවන් වෙනුවෙන් පොත් පත් සමස්ත ලංකා ශාසනාරක්ෂක මණ්ඩලයේ ගරු ප්‍රධාන ලේඛකාධිකාරී පූජ්‍ය මුගුණුවෙල අනුරුද්ධ නායක ස්වාමීන් වහන්සේට සහ මාතලේ උකුවෙල ශාසනාරක්ෂක මණ්ඩලයේ ගරු ප්‍රධාන ලේඛකාධිකාරී පූජ්‍ය කළුන්දෑවේ චන්ද්‍රසිරි නායක ස්වාමීන් වහන්සේට පරිත්‍යාග කරන ලදි.

Colombo YMBA Conducts Annual Alms Giving Ceremony – 2026

Colombo YMBA commemorated its 128th Anniversary with the Annual Alms Offering held on 11th January 2026 at the Main Hall of the Colombo Young Buddhist Association. The event was organized in remembrance of the late founders, former presidents, board members, committee members, executive committee officers, members, and staff, while also invoking blessings upon the present board, president, committee members, executive committee officers, and employees. කොළඹ තරුණ බෞද්ධ සංගමයට වසර 128ක් පිරීම නිමිත්තෙන් දිවංගත නිර්මාතෘවරුන්, හිටපු සභාපතිවරුන්, පාලක මණ්ඩල සභිකවරුන්, කෘත්‍යාධිකාරි මණ්ඩල නිලධාරීන්, සාමාජිකයන් සහ කාර්‍ය මණ්ඩලයේ අය සිහිපත් කරමින් සහ වර් තමාන පාලක මණ්ඩලය, සභාපතිතුමා ඇතුළු කෘත්‍යාධිකාරී මණ්ඩලයේ නිලධාරී මහත්වරුන්ට සහ සේවක මහත්ම මහත්මීන්ට ආශිර්වාද කරමින් වාර් ශික දානමය පින්කම 2026 ජනවාරි 11 වෙනි දින කොළඹ තරුණ බෞද්ධ සංගමයේ ප්‍රධාන ශාලාවේදී සිදු කරන ලදි.

“Athata Athak” Project Supports Flood-Affected Students of Vijayaba Maha Vidyalaya

School uniforms were provided to students of Vijayaba Maha Vidyalaya, Colombo 14, who were affected by the recent floods on 05.01.2026. This assistance was provided under the “Athata Athak” project, a concept introduced by the Honorable President of the Colombo YMBA, Mr. Panduka Mahendra Jayasekera, to support affected communities. කොළඹ තරුණ බෞද්ධ සංගමයේ ගරු සභාපති පණ්ඩුක මහේන්ද්‍ර ජයසේකර මහතාගේ සංකල්පයක් ලෙස ගංවතුරෙන් ආපදාවට ලක්වුවන්ට අත්වැලක් වීමට ආරම්භ කරන ලද "අතට අතක්" ව්‍යාපෘතිය යටතේ බස්නාහිර පළාතට අයත් කොළඹ 14 විජයබා මහා විද්‍යාලයේ ගංවතුරෙන් පිඩාවට පත් වු පාසල් දරුවන් වෙනුවෙන් පාසල් නිළ ඇඳුම් ලබා දීමට කොළඹ තරුණ බෞද්ධ සංගමයෙන් 2025.01.05 වෙනි දින කටයුතු කරන ලදි.

"Athata Athak" Fund Relief - Colombo YMBA

The “Light of Asia” Centenary Celebration was successfully concluded on 06 December 2025, conducted across 11 divisions, with 67 prize winners and 13 finalists competing for the Overall Winner Award. The Overall Winner Award was presented to Miss. Nadine Jayaweera of Museaus College, Colombo 07, along with a cash prize of Rs. 50,000/=. In a generous and compassionate gesture, she donated her entire cash prize to the flood relief donation account under the “Athata Athak” project initiated by the Colombo YMBA. The Colombo YMBA extends its sincere appreciation and gratitude to Miss. Nadine Jayaweera for her compassionate gesture, which reflects a strong sense of social responsibility and the true spirit of giving.“The Light of Asia” සියවස් සැමරුම 2025 දෙසැම්බර් 06 වන දින සාර්ථකව පවත්වන්නට යෙදුනි. එය අංශ 11 ක් යටතේ පවත්වන ලද අතර ත්‍යාගලාභීන් 67 දෙනෙකු සඳහා ත්‍යාග හා සම්මාන පිරිනමන ලදි. තරගාවලියේ විශිෂ්ටතම සම්මානය මියුසියස් විද්‍යාලයේ නදීන් ජයවීර ශිෂ්‍යාව විසින් දිනාගත් අතර ඇයට හිමි රුපියල් 50,000/= ක ත්‍යාග මුදල ඇය කොළඹ තරුණ බෞද්ධ සංගමය විසින් දියත් කරන ලද “අතට අතක්” ව්‍යාපෘතිය යටතේ ගංවතුර සහන අරමුදලට පරිත්‍යාග කරන ලදි. එම පරිත්‍යාගය වෙනුවෙන් ඇයට කොළඹ තරුණ බෞද්ධ සංගමයේ හෘදයාංගම ස්තූතිය පුද කර සිටින්නෙමු.
